Towns, cities and regions have an influence on the style of music, whether it is the 'English Countryside' feel of Vaughan Williams, the strength of Elgar's Victorian Malvern, or the skirl of Northumbrian Pipe tune.

Of Sutton Coldfield, has been said:-

"  The town is situated about seven miles north east of Birmingham and is a popular residential area for many who work in the city. The Aston Expressway takes traffic quickly to Sutton via Erdington. The town is well-known for its two thousand four hundred acres of natural parkland with seven lakes, originally the property of Bishop Vesey as a gift from Henry VIII. Old Moor Hall, the fifteenth century home of the Bishop still stands. He founded the Grammar School which is named after him. Some of the many hamlets in this large parish are: Four Oaks (there is also a hamlet of this name in Berkswell), Little Sutton, Hill, Maney, Mere Green, Walmley, Warmley Ash, Wiggins Hill. "

In the orchestra, percussion instruments are effective in inverse proportion to their number. ~ Charles Stanford
